Phlebotomy Technician Program & Internship (G)

This 170 hour course prepares students for a career as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. Students begin with the 90 hours of classroom in  the healthcare delivery system, collection of materials and equipment, venipuncture and capillary techniques, and medical, legal and ethical implications of blood collection. Students will complete 30 venipuncture and 10 capillary sticks before the completion of the course to be eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam given by NHA. Upon successful completion of the Phlebotomy course hour, students will be eligible to complete an 80 hands-on clinical externship at a local healthcare facility. Students will complete 80 hours at a local healthcare facility under direct supervision. Students must adhere to their schedule and complete the assigned hours.
