This course is approved by the New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. Students will be introduced to the basic radiologic principles of intraoral and extraoral imaging of the dentoalveolar structures, as the radiographic examination plays an integral role in the diagnostic process in dentistry in conjunction with the clinical examination. The dental assistant must be proficient with intraoral and extraoral techniques to fulfill their roles as dental professionals.

This course is intended for individuals who are currently employed by a dental office, as the course includes a required clinical component. An exception may be made for students who are not currently employed by a dental office but have secured a dental office willing to host them for the required clinical experience.
